HELP & CLARIFICATIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about browser diagnostics, user-entered economics scenarios, and which mining features are unavailable.
General & Ethics
Does this website mine cryptocurrency in my browser?
No. CoinMiners does not mine cryptocurrency or connect to mining pools. A synthetic browser benchmark runs only after you press Start and can be stopped from the page; it uses your device resources but does not report mining hashrate.
What is the purpose of Phase 1?
The site provides coarse browser capability checks, optional synthetic benchmarks, structured reports, market information where available, and manual electricity/economics scenarios. It does not provide native mining software or a pool connection.
Why can't browser benchmark scores convert to mining earnings?
WebCrypto SHA-256 and WebGPU compute shaders evaluate browser JavaScript and graphics driver execution APIs. Modern proof-of-work algorithms (like Monero's RandomX or Ravencoin's KawPow) require low-level memory controllers, massive L3 caches, or direct GPU memory addressing that cannot be tested inside a secure browser sandbox.
Hardware & Diagnostics
Why can't the browser detect my exact GPU model or VRAM?
This scanner uses browser APIs and does not identify your exact GPU model or VRAM. CoinMiners does not currently provide a native client that reads hardware details.
My browser shows WebGPU as "Unavailable". Can I still use CoinMiners?
You can still use other browser diagnostics, but this only describes browser API support. CoinMiners has no native miner, so this page cannot determine whether a specific GPU is suitable for mining.
Can I stop the benchmark while it is running?
Yes. The benchmark interface features an instant Stop button that immediately signals cancellation, terminates active Web Workers, and destroys allocated WebGPU buffers.
Economics & Electricity
How does the Profit Calculator determine break-even electricity?
It is the entered revenue remaining after specified pool/platform fees and conversion, payout/withdrawal, and other costs, divided by daily kWh. Missing fees and costs are excluded and listed as not included. The value is a manual scenario, not a forecast or guarantee.
Why doesn't the calculator fetch live cryptocurrency market prices?
The manual calculator requires revenue values and their source to be entered by you. Other site sections may display a third-party spot price or market snapshot; a price alone is not enough for an income forecast, and the calculator does not create a live earnings forecast.
Security & Payouts
Does CoinMiners custody my funds or require a crypto wallet?
CoinMiners does not connect to wallets, pools, or payout systems. The optional address page is a local format checker and address book; it does not verify ownership or send addresses to a miner. Never enter a private key or recovery phrase.
Are my benchmark reports sent to a remote server?
Browser scan results stay in the page unless you export them or choose to save a report to your signed-in account after consent. Saving to your account uploads that report to CoinMiners; review the Privacy Policy before doing so.
